WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES COMPARED TO SYSTEMS CURRENTLY ON THE MARKET?
The ArmoredCore system was developed by NATUREPOOLS technicians over a period of three years of research, modifications, and rigorous laboratory testing, leading to its current formulation. The key focus areas of our studies were:
1. Water drainage speed through the three-dimensional geogrid package and spherical quartz conglomerate, in order to prevent algae formation
2. Outstanding performance in terms of tensile and flexural strength
3. Use of next-generation, completely non-toxic resins
To achieve this exceptional result, we created what did not previously exist. With the support of internationally renowned partners, we did not simply adapt commercial products designed for other applications. Instead, we engineered and patented three-dimensional geogrids made from special materials—which, for specific requirements, may even include Kevlar or carbon fiber—allowing us to create an exceptionally robust reinforcement structure.
In place of traditional polyurethane resins containing diisocyanates (highly volatile chemical compounds that are extremely harmful and considered potentially carcinogenic at the pulmonary level), we use innovative non-toxic resins with a special formulation that ensures high resistance to weathering, UV exposure, and aging, while also providing exceptional flexibility.
Instead of commonly used flaked inert materials—some of which are particularly sensitive to the chemical products used in swimming pools—we chose spherical quartz. Spherical quartz is a natural quartz sand, rounded by water, characterized by high hardness (7 on the Mohs scale) and excellent physico-chemical stability. Thanks to its shape, it allows for rapid water circulation in NATUREPOOLS pools, an essential condition for preventing algae proliferation. Additionally, its natural roughness is ideal for creating walkable surfaces with optimal grip.
The final result is a super-draining and ultra-resistant shell. In laboratory tests, ArmoredCore achieved outstanding performance in breakage tests, demonstrating more than double the strength compared to competing systems.
